Despite its childish sense of humor, the Dragon Ball Super anime managed to conquer the hearts of thousands of fans around the world. Unfortunately, his journey on Japanese television came to an end in that distant 2018. While the story continues in the manga, fans want to see the new adventures of Goku and company in animation. Luckily, and according to a new clue, this could happen sooner rather than later.
As you probably know, the franchise will release a new movie this year called Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero , in which we can once again see Gohan and the Red Patrol in action. Toei Animation took advantage of the last few months to feed the hype of the fans with small doses of information about the narrative arc and other elements of this production.
In case you missed it: Dragon Ball Super: It seems that we will see Trunks and Goten as teenagers in the new movie
While fans thought that this new feature film would be the only thing they could enjoy from the franchise this year, the recent statements of a producer ignited the hype and now the hope of seeing the triumphant return of the animated series is more alive than ever.
WILL THE DRAGON BALL SUPER ANIME RETURN IN 2022?
During a new edition of the “Weekly Dragon Ball News” video series, Akio Iyoku, executive producer of the series, stated that he is currently working hard to finish everything related to Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero , an animated film that will arrive at the Japanese movie theaters on April 22, 2022.
“I think the movie is amazing, especially the animation. The creator of the series, Akira Toriyama, is very happy with it. It’s a brand new animation, so please wait a little longer until it’s finished.”
However, the most interesting moment in the video is when Akio Iyoku acknowledges that there is a possibility that “something” other than the Dragon Ball Super movie will also arrive this year. He did not disclose more details about this mysterious project, so the community has already turned to social networks to speculate.
Of course, most fans think that the statements refer to an imminent return of the anime. After all, the community already wants to see recent manga events on TV.
Find out: Dragon Ball Super will go off the air for a controversial scene of Master Roshi
However, it is important to note that Akio Iyoku did not explicitly confirm that the Dragon Ball Super anime will be back with new episodes. Therefore, his statements could allude to anything else; from a new movie to the reveal of the new arc of the manga. Therefore, we recommend moderating the hype and waiting for more information to come out.
But tell us, would you like the Dragon Ball Super anime to come back? Let us read you in the comments.
