Deadline Day is at long last upon us after a busy summer transfer window for Manchester United. The Red Devils released 11 players at the expiry of their contracts back in June as Erik ten Hag began to mould the squad to his requirements. Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez were the first three players welcomed to Old Trafford, while United embarked on a long – and ultimately unsuccessful – pursuit of Frenkie de Jong. Although the Premier League giants were unable to prise the Dutchman from Barcelona, Casemiro arrived from Real Madrid to bolster the midfield and will soon be joined by Antony and Martin Dubravka. A number of Old Trafford exits are expected on Deadline Day and, who knows, there may yet be a surprise, last-gasp signing. Keep it right here throughout Deadline Day for all the latest Manchester United transfer news and rumours.
William Fish will leave Man Utd on loan, the Manchester Evening News reports. The centre-back, who played during United’s pre-season tour, will move to Scottish side Hibernian for the upcoming season. 19-year-old defender Fish made his Premier League debut in May 2021, and is under contract at Old Trafford until 2025.
Erik ten Hag has reassured Aaron Wan-Bissaka he still has a future at Man Utd, according to Jonathan Shrager. An attempt to force through a late loan for the right-back was blocked by United, who have remained insistent they don’t want to let him leave. Wan-Bissaka has played just five league minutes this season, coming on as a late substitute against Liverpool. Wan-Bissaka’s representation feel Manchester United could’ve better handled the situation, and today met with the club to explore a potential late loan, which was denied. Ten Hag assured Aaron that he still has a chance at OT. AWB not with the squad today, but will train tomorrow
